SARASOTA – Karen Eber Davis was honored for her role in creating and establishing the Sarasota County Down Payment Assistance Program (DPAP) by the Office of Housing and Community Development, presented by Donald Hadsell, director of Sarasota’s Office of Housing and Community Development at the Affordable Housing Summit on May 2, at the Sarasota Quay.

The award marked the 10th anniversary of the DPAP, which provides funds for down payment and closing costs to first-time homebuyers in Sarasota County. To date, 1800 families have realized their dream of home ownership through the program.

Davis, of Karen Eber Davis Consulting, established in 1994, provides a variety of services and workshops related to grants, strategic planning and new program development to not-for-profit organizations on Florida’s West Coast. She also publishes Local Sources, a biannual guide to details on funding sources in Charlotte, Manatee and Sarasota Counties, and other resource guides.
